New Digs for Neighborly Gifts
After more than five years of steady growth, our family business is putting down roots in a new neighborhood.
Our move to 1800 N Broadway Avenue in Rochester follows years of searching for the right place to build Neighborly Gifts' next chapter. The new home more than doubles our footprint — making room for year-round gifting — and cements our future in a corridor dotted with other vibrant small businesses.
"When choosing a new location, we knew we wanted to be part of an area that lived up to our name," says Sarah Richardson, founder and CEO of Neighborly Gifts. "Not only does this space feel Neighborly, it gives us the room we need to keep growing our mission."
Neighborly Gifts began in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, when Sarah started putting together Easter baskets featuring gifts from downtown Rochester businesses. It was less a business venture than a gesture of support for the local establishments that had shaped her career.
What followed, no one could have predicted. Sarah was soon connected with Mayo Clinic, which contracted Neighborly — then known as Gift Rochester — to support its employee recognition efforts. That partnership grew into a year-round operation that now serves Mayo enterprise-wide, supporting more than 250 independently owned businesses across five states.
Now in year six, Neighborly has sold more than 150,000 gifts — generating more than $5 million in economic impact in the neighborhoods served by Mayo and our other local clients.
Of course, a move like this doesn't happen without help. Our sincere thanks to the businesses who got us up and running at the new location: GZ Painting, Scripture Painting, HG Electric, and Narrative Signs.
