Our Story
We believe the best gift is the one with the biggest impact.
Our Mission
By putting small businesses at the center of everything we do, Neighborly offers customers a meaningful way to discover and support the local treasures that make our communities shine.
Our Vision
To build the corporate gifting platform unlike any other — where meaningful customer experiences and thriving local economies go hand in hand.
We started by
Being good neighbors
Think back to 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic was in its early stages — people were staying home, and businesses were closing their doors. Amid the uncertainty, our founder Sarah decided to do something bold to support some of her fellow Rochester business owners. Drawing on a decade of experience running a successful branding and design agency, she put her talents to work. With a website developed over a weekend, she and the team at Neighborly Creative went on to sell and safely distribute hundreds of Easter gifts from downtown businesses – with all of the dollars staying local.
Then our sales grew
From hundreds to thousands
After the holiday, Sarah packed up the idea and put it on the shelf. But it didn’t stay there for long. A connection with Mayo Clinic led to thousands more gifts going out in the months to come. Within a year, Gift Rochester (as it was called then) had transitioned from a seasonal-only project to a year-round gift-giving business, working with gift vendors and restaurants across southern Minnesota. And through it all, one thing stayed constant: a commitment to growing the company without ever compromising on our principle of putting small businesses first.
Today, we are
Extending our impact
In 2022, we changed our name to Neighborly Gifts as we expanded our relationship with Mayo Clinic to include employee gifting across sites in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Arizona and Florida. By year five, we had reached $5 million in economic impact for small businesses in neighborhoods along that footprint. Building on that momentum, we moved into a new 4,200-square-foot fulfillment center along North Broadway in Rochester in 2026 — allowing us to bring our mission of supporting local to more customers than ever before.
